Product Spotlight: Sweet Orange Face + Body Balm

Posted by Smita Kishore on

Our Original Sweet Orange Face + Body Balm is not only one of our best sellers, but it’s also our best multitasker! The uses for this moisturizing balm go far beyond most, and today I’m here to share with you a few of my favorite tips :)

But first, let’s take a closer look at the ingredients that make up this beauty to understand their healing properties.

Ingredient Breakdown

Organic Coconut Oil: Comprised of healing fatty acids with antibacterial, antimicrobial, antifungal properties that protect our skin. Coconut oil is an excellent lightweight daily moisturizer and skin softener.

Organic Olive Oil: Packed with moisturizing and antioxidant properties that help restore our skin's smoothness and reduce free radical damage.

Organic Beeswax: Beeswax is a natural humectant that seals moisture into our skin, while also creating a breathable protective barrier from environmental irritants.

Organic Jojoba Oil: A mono-ester wax that provides long-lasting hydration and protection for our skin. Jojoba oil absorbs deep into the skin, moisturizing us from the inside out.

Organic Sweet Orange Essential Oil: Packed with antioxidant, antibacterial and anti-inflammation properties (all great for reducing acne and fighting wrinkles) with a light, refreshing scent.

My Favorite Uses + Tips

Daily Moisturizer: I’ve been using this balm on my face and body for years, and I’m still as in love as the first time I used it! Nothing beats the lightweight, yet super hydrating combination of oils, which are perfect for moisturizing all year round. I like to apply while my skin is still soft and damp from a warm shower. I also use this as my nighttime face cream before going to bed.

Tip: A little goes a long way! Apply half of what you would normal cream or lotion ;)

Cuticle Repair: Chicago winters can leave my cuticles looking like 😳 . This balm is not only healing (it literally repairs my cuticles within a day!), but the organic coconut oil and sweet orange essential oil are also perfect for clearing out bad bacteria that may be harboring around those nail beds! Simply use clean, dry fingers to massage a tiny amount into and around your cuticles.

Tip: I like to use a q-tip to apply the balm before massaging it in with my thumbs. This helps me get just the right amount onto each cuticle.

Hand + Foot Massage: Mmmm, there’s nothing better than a nightly hand and foot massage to hydrate your skin and relax your body before going to sleep. Simply massage into hands and feet with gentle, circular motions.

Tip: I keep a jar right next to my bed because we all know I’m not leaving those cozy sheets once I’m settled in!

FlyAway Frizz Controller + Curl Definer: If you’ve got curly hair like me, you surely know that it has a mind of its own, especially on hot and humid days! Our Orginal Sweet Orange Face + Body Balm is my go to curl definer when I need something a little heavier than my usual coconut-castor oil combo. Simply rub a small amount between your fingers and apply to damp or dry hair. Bonus: with all the hydrating oils in this balm, it acts as a leave-in conditioner as well ;)

Tip: Twirl your finger around the bottom of your curls to add a little extra oil and definition to any dry ends. Gently pat and press down to smooth out flyaways.

Eyebrow Tamer: I don’t know about you but I prefer the natural look when it comes to my eyebrows, which means they can get a little unruly at times. Luckily our face + body balm works perfectly to smooth and keep down those stubborn hairs!

Tip: Lightly dab a tiny amount onto each eyebrow, using a different finger to rub it in to avoid applying too much.

Beard Balm: Yes! Simply rub a small amount between your palms and apply top down to smooth out and condition wild, frizzy hairs. If you don't believe me, just ask Aman ;)

Tip: Less is more!

Love + Light,

Smita
