FEEL THE LOVE!

Product Spotlight: Healthy Hair Balm

Posted by Smita Kishore on

Our Healthy Hair Balm is the first product I made for my husband to help tame and condition his growing beard. He was also using a hair pomade at the time, whose ingredients I didn’t approve of, which eventually led to the creation of this organic hair and beard duo! Aman has been using this balm for years and loves it. Not only has it helped reduce itchy beard and dandruff, but his hair and beard look and feel healthier and softer. He uses it daily to keep his scalp and hair conditioned, but this can also be used as a styler and heat protectant.

While it was made for men, it can certainly have the same effects for women too, especially those with shorter cuts who need to style with heat and keep hair in place. It’s the perfect daily balm to nourish, condition, style and keep hair and beard healthy and strong.

Uses + Tips

Condition Hair + Beard. The combination of deep absorbing argan and jojoba oils and nourishing shea butter is the perfect daily conditioner for hair and beards. It penetrates deep into the skin and hair, helping to seal in moisture, making hair appear thicker. TipWork a small amount between palms and rub onto hair to condition ends and nourish skin below. Comb through after applying to distribute evenly.

Provide Light Hold. Organic beeswax helps lock in moisture and coats hair to keep it in place so the Healthy Hair Balm is also a great styling tool if you’re looking to tame unruly beards or style your hair. Simply work a small amount through hair and style as usual. Tip: A little goes a long way! Start with a dime-sized amount and use more as needed.

Reduce Itchy Scalp + Dandruff. The skin on the scalp and under beards rarely gets the love it needs! This can cause itchiness, flaking dry skin, and dandruff. Argan oil penetrates the scalp to moisturize and reduce inflammation, while tea tree oil works to fight bacteria and keep the skin clean. Tip: Apply overnight if you don’t like to have balm in your hair during the day time or if you need a stronger scalp/dandruff treatment.

Prestyler + Heat Protectant. This balm is perfect for men who like to blow dry and style their hair. Organic beeswax and shea butter help seal and protect hair from heat damage and provide a light hold to facilitate styling. Simply rub a small amount through hair/beard before blowdrying to protect hair. Comb through to spread evenly. Tip: This also works well for women who have shorter hair that needs to be styled!

Control Frizz. I often use the Healthy Hair Balm to help fight frizz on humid days. It provides a stronger hold and shine than the Face + Body Balm, which is my usual go-to, thanks to the shea butter and argan oil. Plus, it's easier to carry around in my bag. Tip: Rub a small amount between palms and gently pat down onto hair. I like to start at the ends and work my way up to prevent myself from applying too much near the roots. If you have curly hair like me, twist your fingers through your curls from the nape down to spread the balm evenly.

Healthy Shine. If you’re looking to add a light, healthy shine to your locks and beard then this is the balm for you. Simply rub through hair and beard and comb through to spread evenly. Tip: Less is more! Always start with a small amount and apply more as needed until you get the desired results.

Love + Light,

Smita :)
